What response does the cross of Christ cause in our lives? On Sunday morning we were reminded that the cross of Christ should give us (among many other things) an incentive for mission as a church.
The community of believers (the church) are a people who have been set the task of 'proclaiming the excellencies of him who called [them] out of darkness and into his marvellous light' (1 Peter 2:9).
So as a church, are we doing this to our fullest potential? Are we happy to sit back when so many are headed for Hell? Do we rely on a team within the church to conduct evangelism on our behalf?
As a church we should be working TOGETHER to tell others about the incredible transformation's that have taken place in our lives through the death of Jesus on the cross - that is our purpose.
The incentive is surely there; without the knowledge of Jesus Christ many will go to Hell, lost for eternity. We MUST tell them about Jesus so that they might be brought from darkness into wonderful light.
So as a church let's take on the challenge, let's fulfil the purpose for which we were created, let's reach out into our community.
TOGETHER, let's proclaim the excellencies of him who called us out of darkness and into his marvellous light.
Please be encouraged to sign your name on the list which can be found on the church desk. This may make you feel nervous and uncomfortable, but TOGETHER we can bring glory to God.
